M.J. Webb & “The Jake West” Trilogy

Jake West Trilogy

I have a lot of great thoughts and respect for so many indie authors and their work that I have had the pleasure to support and promote in this past year, and today I want to share a bit of news in concern to one of them.  Martin J. Webb.

Webb’s YA Fantasy book series – The Jake West Trilogy – is starting 2013 off right with a BBC radio talk show appearance, a Goodread’s sponsored Read and Review giveaway, and a free Amazon copy of the first book in the series; “Jake West – The Keeper of the Stones.”

Today, at 11AM (UK Time), Author Martin John Webb with BBC Radio Host Adrian Goldberg in Birmingham, England.

Interview begins at 2:24:20

The interview was really cool with Martin speaking about how he got into writing, his family connections to the series, and the issues concerning the ups and downs in the publishing industry and what he learned from it.  Despite the shortness of time, I think Martin did really well for his first radio appearance and I am looking forward to seeing him accomplish so much more in the near future.

On Goodreads.com – a group called  David Estes Fans and YA Book Lovers Unite! – is presently hosting a read and review giveaway event for “Jake West – The Keeper of the Stones” and the list for requests are constantly growing.  As one of the readers of the entire series, I added a note to tell the readers how much they will enjoy every word.  Here is what Bobbie Crawford-McCoy c/o nurtureyourbooks.com had to say;

 JAKE WEST:  The Keeper of the Stones is the first book in an action-packed, adventure-filled, character-driven YA Fantasy series that should be on the New York Times Bestsellers list. This is not an idle boast; one simply has to read the book to find out how very right we are. This story reads like a big screen movie and focuses on themes of loyalty, trust, friendship and camaraderie and their polar opposites. Every character is skillfully written and with great depth; they each have their own distinct personality and unique character traits. The story should be equally enjoyable for both genders and it is also highly recommended for adult fantasy. The story does contain a fair amount or violence and some blood/gore, but it is well-written, adds depth to the story and brings the battle and action scenes to life. The book is beautifully packaged as a perfect paperback or a hard cover edition, with three, high quality, b&w, maps that are included inside the front cover. Mark our words; M.J. WEBB is an author to watch and readers will be clamoring for the next book in the series! Very highly recommended. For YA and adult fantasy readers who are searching for a brand-new, superb fantasy series to get into, look no further…

About the Author: M. J. Webb

M.-J.-WEBBM J Webb is a fortysomething father of two and husband to one from Walsall in the heart of England. He has worked for the British Civil Service for over twenty years. As a full time employee and father he has limited spare time but what little he can find is spent reading, writing, cycling and following football.

In closing, my personal review still stands.  M.J. Webb & The Jake West Trilogy is the Next Big Thing in Books & Film. (Read my previous post here)   The books you can collect now, and the films, I’m sure, are bound to follow soon.

All my best to you, Martin, and congratulations for the start of a promising new year for you and your fantastic books!
